Public Notices
Part of Minnehaha Creek Watershed District’s (MCWD) mission is to protect lakes, streams, and wetlands within the watershed’s boundaries. To do this, MCWD requires permits for certain types of construction projects:
- Stormwater management
- Waterbody crossing
- Wetland protection
- Floodplain alteration
- Dredging
- Shoreline stabilization
When a project requires public notice, we mail a postcard notification to landowners within 600 feet of the project site. Comments are accepted from the public for 14 calendar days following the public notice date. During this time, individuals may request the Board of Managers consider the permit if they have concerns about the project.
